Collection contains photographs from various times in McLure's life, especially from 1904 through 1909. It also includes scrapbooks of the Georgia Military Academy football team of 1904, the API football and baseball teams of 1907-1909, a Bible from William E. Reynolds dated 1856, a 1918 history of the 1st Engineer's of the U.S. Army, a 1940 U.S. Army staff officer manual, and a 1909 API diploma.

John Thomas McLure was a member of the football team of the Georgia Military Academy in 1904 and of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) football and baseball teams in 1907-1909.
